Dilpesh Amin
Background information – 2009 Season:
LHB, LB, Former Captain, Hard hitting, hard drinking , hard eating , with a soft underbelly, in fact quite a few bellies.
What clubs have you previously played for:
Streatham Lewin .New Malden Wimbledon Harammbe, Warlingham.
Your greatest single moment:
Too many to recount, Winning a Championship and league Cup with NMWH, and the best part is to be able to call all of them my friends after 30 years plus , priceless.
What are your hopes for your team in 2010: To get in the team for a start, John. Morris is a top bloke and a very underrated batsmen, he will get the best out of anyone because of the previous comments. In the 1St team Alex Pizzey and the rest of his very young, though talented side are going to grow in stature by playing as a team and friends.
One to watch for 2010:
Nikhil Patel, James Fuller,Dan Chrystie, Nihal Patel and the best leg spinner in the league Devik Amin. Also look out for Shane Patel, Monish Patel and Macca McNanamee to GROW UP as more prolific batsmen.
Preferred batting partner:
Amit Patel (a fearless batter, terrible runner and totally unselfish), and after he is out John Morris (big heart and a fighter) I am normally out after these two.
As I’ve opened mostly, Steve Saker (clinical opening bat par excellence), Amit Patel (as above), If not these two to open with, thenViru Shewag, we’d get on well I think.
Who is your cricketing hero?
Hero’s – All those who try to keep the spirit of the game going, always walk if you are out.
What was the first CD or record you purchased?
Earth Wind and Fire – they played instruments in those days, and still the best band for intro’s to a song.
Favorite ground you’ve ever played at?
Any where I have got runs, where we have won, and Warlingham to have a nice drink at.
Best teas in the Championship?
Old Emmanuelle, though I may be confusing it with a film I was watching last night, though chocolate and ice cream were definitely involved with both of them.
